Vintage 'Sabego Grey Mink full length leather trimmed coat.

Sabego Furs of Melbourne sat in what was once a classic but is now a largely vanished category of mid-century Australian furriers.  They weren't a brand in the modern sense but a specialist house supplying luxury furs.  The Furriers first appeared on the Melbourne Fashion scene around the 1950s -1960s.  They were used by models, photographers and department store promotions, placing them firmly within the working fashion industry of the time.  This Grey Mink and leather-trimmed, fully satin-lined coat isn't just fur.  It's a fragment of Collins Street Elegance, from an era when style didn't travel globally; it was made right here.
